Concert Season 2018

The Team of Pianists is thrilled to announce our 2018 concert season and invite you to be a part of this by purchasing tickets to our events. This year, we will take our audiences on a musical journey through France, Spain, Russia as well as the magic of the great Viennese and Germanic classics, with an exciting array of performers in unique historic venues! Explore our 2018 Twilight Chamber Music at Rippon Lea series (major sponsor the C & C Rigg Bequest), the Classic Music in Historic Venues (major sponsor C & C Rigg Bequest) plus the annual Dollars for Dili Charity Event at Glenfern!

A Gala Fund-Raising Concert for the National Trust - Friday February 23, 2018, Rippon Lea Ballroom, 192 Hotham Street, Elsternwick (Melway 67 E2)

Victor Hu (piano) and Tony Fenelon (organ) perform Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor Op 16 (first movement) and Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto no 2 in C minor Op 18 to help raise funds for the Rippon Lea Ballroom. Two performances on this day - one at 1.00pm, the other with light refreshments from 7.30pm, ticket price includes drinks, canapes and a program.

Bookings & information

Post-Concert Dinners

Audience members are welcome to join the artists for a light dinner at Silky Apple Chinese restaurant, following the recitals at Glenfern and Rippon Lea. Cost is very reasonable, drinks are extra – bookings can be made at the ticket desk, prior to the beginning of each recital. Silky Apple is situated at 969 - 975 High Street Armadale (near corner of High Street and Kooyong Road – Melway 59 A7), Tel. 9824 7710.

Shane Lestideau (baroque violin) and Robert Chamberlain (piano) in a program with works for solo violin by Telemann and Bach, traditional violin solos from Ireland and Scotland, duos for violin and piano by Anders Westström and young Australian composer Alice Chance, plus Preludes and Fugues by J S Bach (WTK Bk 1 in C & E) and a selection from Ross Edwards' Mantra and Night Flowers, all in the intimate Drawing Room at Glenfern. Dollars for Dili

Charity Fund Raising Concert

Presented by the East Timor Hospital Support Fund in assocation with the Team of Pianists, this recital will feature emerging young artists, including finalists from Royal South Street Ballarat and the Lieder Society of Victoria’s Liederfest. Pre-concert refreshments, donated through the sponsorship of Peter Friedrich and Dr Fiona Cochrane, will be served.
